Discursive strategies of Zapatista resistance to regional development megaprojects in Mexico
Kleshchenko L.
摘要
The article provides an analysis of the controversy surrounding the megaprojects of regional development of Mexico proposed by President A.M. López Obrador (2018—2024). The study aims to identify the characteristics of how megaprojects are represented in official and oppositional discourse. It was found that the official discourse presents megaprojects as a means of solving social problems. The Zapatista movement has used environmental, gender and eschatological narratives to delegitimise megaprojects.

Internal armed conflicts and civil wars as one of the factors of inter-state peace in Latin America
Mukhametov R.
摘要
The article examines the causes of interstate peace in Latin American countries. Special attention is paid to the existing explanations from the «great theories» and middle-level theories. The purpose of the article is to verify the thesis that civil conflicts in Latin American countries have led to certain positive results, to the establishment of peace between them. It is shown that civil wars have historically played an important role in terms of containing interstate military conflicts. The author argues that after internal conflicts, states are less likely to participate in external military actions, since they are focused on restoring and consolidating peace within the country.

Protection of traditional family values: the Latin American experience
Averina O.
摘要
The article examines the current stage of resistance to gender-based mainstream, reproductive and sexual rights in Latin American countries, the reasons for the intensification of conservative forces, their goals and objectives. A special emphasis in the work is placed on the analysis of the Peruvian movement "Don't mess with our kids as one of the most numerous in the region. The author attributes the leadership of evangelical churches, their politicization, and the formation of alliances with the Catholic clergy and right-wing parties to the characteristic features of Latin American antigender. The scale of the movement’s spread and effectiveness are explained by the use of a set of strategies, including rejecting religious rhetoric in favor of scientific arguments, appealing to human rights, creating independent NGOs, and using social networks as a tool for mass mobilization of citizens. As a result of the research, the author comes to the conclusion that the movement for traditional family values in Latin America is a subject of the political process and, having a huge mobilization potential and resources, is able to influence the alignment of political forces in the region.

Protection of Lake Baikal and the Galapagos Islands as World Heritage Natural Properties
Kolobov R.
摘要
The article studies the problems of World Natural Heritage protection on the examples of Lake Baikal and the Galapagos Islands. It shows the common nature of the problems typical for unique natural properties, despite their significant remoteness and different socio-economic context of their protection. The forms of national legal protection of Lake Baikal and the Galapagos Islands are studied, and the compatibility of the interests of protection of World Heritage properties and residence of a significant number of local residents within the boundaries of such properties is stated. According to the results of the study, the article reveals the tendency of the plurality of different nature protection regimes operating within the boundaries of unique natural properties. The tendency of formation of specific normative acts providing protection of World Natural Heritage properties is shown. The necessity of recognizing the central ecological zone of the Baikal natural territory as a specially protected natural territory with the subsequent formation of its unified administration is justified.
