The ultrastructure of gum capillary endoteliocytes after the implantation of titan nicelide and correction
Abstract
The paper presents a morphometric study of the ultrastructure of gum capillary endoteliocytes under the conditions of titan nickelide experimental implantation and phytomineral complex application. Positive changes of the ultrastructure of the cells under study are associated with the protective and stimulating effects of the given phytomineral complex. The study results allow substantiation of the use of correctors for the optimization of dental implantation results.

Evaluation of the deformation of the mental part of the mandible after staged mini-implant placement using holographic interferometry
Abstract
A number of methods of prosthesis fixation on toothless jaws including mechanic, surgical, and physical ones, have been offered. Implant placement is one of the surgical methods used for the improvement of prosthesis fixation and stabilization. As a rule, all the sorts and systems of implantation for removable prosthesis fixation imply a two-stage implant placement and a minimal implant diameter of 3 mm. Not long ago 1.8-mm mini-implants appeared on Russian market. The aim of this study was to evaluate the deformation of the mental part of the mandible after staged placement of mini-implants of various forms using holographic interferometry. The study shows that preference should be given to type I cylindrical implants.

In vitro effects of diode laser bleaching on dental enamel microhardness
Abstract
Laboratory investigations performed by the authors, demonstrate that dental bleaching using Opus Wheite laser system with 15 to 300 sec diode laser irradiation significantly influence micromechanical dental enamel characteristics, and leads to an increase in dental enamel microhardness, concerning both intact and pulpless teeth. The study shows that laser irradiation during 120 sec or more (up to 300 sec) results in a more stable increase in dental enamel microhardness. Fifteen to 60-sec irradiation led to an increase in dental enamel microhardness by 10.68 ± 1.04 % (P < 0.001) on the average, while 120 to 300 sec irradiation led to an increase in this parameter by 26.03 ± 1.36 %. Increase of dental enamel microhardness during diode laser bleaching suggests that irradiation results in the consolidation of the crystal matrix of the superficial dental enamel hydroxilapatite which increases dental acid- and caries-resistance.

Increasing local anesthesia effectiveness and reducing the risk of somatic complications while treating pediatric dental diseases
Abstract
The effectiveness of intraligamentous anesthesia with 2 % lidocaine + clonidine 1:200,000; 2 % lidocaine + adrenaline + clonidine 1:200,000; 2 % lidocaine + adrenaline 1:100,000; 2 % lidocaine alone, was evaluated. The study confirmed high effectiveness of intraligamentous anesthesia with 2 % lidocaine + clonidine 1:200,000 and the absence of the system action of clonidine during anesthesia. The effectiveness of 2 % lidocaine + adrenaline 1:100,000 and that of 2 % lidocaine + clonidine 1:200,000 were practically equal. The effect of intraligamentous anesthesia with 2 % lidocaine + adrenaline + clonidine 1:200,000 in children lasts longer than the effect of 2% lidocaine + adrenaline 1:100,000 does. Thus, the use of 2 % lidocaine + adrenaline + clonidine 1:200,000 in pediatric dentistry is more promising compared with other combinations.

Complex radiodiagnostics of combined injuries of facial cranial bones and orbital structures
Abstract
The article covers the aspects of complex radodiagnostics of combined injuries of facial cranial bones and orbital structures. The effectiveness of various radiological diagnostic methods of the evaluation of maxillofacial structures is illustrated by sizeable clinical material. The authors demonstrate high information value of spiral computed tomography vs. other methods in revealing of bony lesions and foreign bodies, as well as diagnostics of pathology of orbital structures. The study established the diagnostic parameters of eye ultrasonography in patients with combined trauma of facial bones and orbital structures aimed at diagnostics of retinal detachment, hemophtalmus, and prevention of severe complications associated with these conditions.

Radiodiagnostics of maxillodental destructive changes
Abstract
The article is dedicated to radiodiagnostics of various maxillodental diseases accompanied by destructive changes in bone tissue. Recommendations concerning the use of various radiodiagnostic methods are given according to the results of the examination of 30 patients with different kinds of maxillary and mandibular bone structure discharging using digital orthopantomography and oral contact radiography, as well as spiral computed tomography (SCT). The advantages of SCT in the specification of the extend of the revealed formations and their connection with other anatomic structures are demonstrated. Indications for SCT in patients with maxillodental diseases are established.

Caries prevention in children with maxillodental anomalies and deformations during orthodontic treatment
Abstract
The study established that the effectiveness of caries prevention significantly decreases in children on apparatus treatment due to the development of immunodeficiency. The patients, to whom caries preventive measures were applied, were divided into two groups: with and without immunocorection (1С). After 4 years of apparatus treatment, the intensity of caries in children without 1С increased 8.6 times, while in children who received 1С according to the offered regimen, this parameter increased 2.9 times. The study demonstrates that 1С in children with maxillodental anomalies and deformations, performed 5 and 15 months after bracket fixation, allows a 2-fold increase in caries prevention effectiveness.

The dynamics of the condition of teeth and parodentium in children undergoing orthodontic treatment with removable and fixed apparatuses
Abstract
The condition of oral cavity in children with maxillodental anomalies and deformations (MDAD) undergoing 4-year apparatus treatment, was under study. The results demonstrate a range of its features, depending on the kind and duration of apparatus treatment. Comparative analysis of caries intensity dynamics showed that in children with removable apparatuses this parameter increased 6 times, while in children with brackets it increased 13 times, compared to background indices of corresponding groups. The study revealed that the initial parameters of carious spot in children with MDAD determine the dynamics of its development; however, in children with brackets there was no positive dynamics of caries spot development, independently of its initial parameters.
