VEGETATIVE PROVISION OF PATIENTS' ACTIVITY IN AN EMOTIONALLY NEUTRAL SITUATION UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF A DENTIST'S OFFICE

Yenikeyev D.A., Petrov P.I., Shaflkov A.R., Shaflkova L.V.

Abstract

Data on the vegetative provision of activity were obtained from subjects aged 19 to 48 in an emotionally neutral situation under the conditions of a dentist's office (in a dental chair). The following objective primary cardiorespiratory parameters were recorded: heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and respiratory rate. The parameters were registered in a sitting position (in the chair), and after an active change of position from sitting to standing. The mentioned primary parameters were used to calculate the derivates of the vegetative tonus. The results of the study can be used to follow changes in the vegetative provision of patients' activity while providing them with adequate dental care

THE WAYS OF MINIMIZING THE EFFECTS OF CHERNOBYL FACTOR ON THE DENTAL STATUS OF CHILD POPULATION

Sevbitov A.V., Skatova Y.A.

Abstract

The authors studied the ways of correcting dental pathology in children belonging to different radiological risk groups. The study revealed significant worsening of dental status parameters in children living in a strict radiological control area after long terms following Chernobyl Atomic Power Station (CAPS) accident. This fact confirms long-term effects of incorporated radionuclides on the condition of the maxillodental system. A complex of medicosocial measures normalized the prevalence and intensity of caries and lowered the prevalence of maxillodental anomalies in children whose parents had taken part in the elimination of CAPS accident consequences; however, the intensity of periodontal diseases remained slightly over the conventional normal level. In children living in a strict radiological control area, who participated in the Federal Program of Rehabilitation of Children Exposed to Radiation, all the recorded dental status parameters were within the conventional normal limits; at the same time, a revealed growth of the number of extracted teeth is an alarming sign. The introduction of the medicosocial rehabilitation program with a dental component allows minimization of Chernobyl catastrophe consequences, which makes it possible to correct ecopathogenic effects and normalize dental status parameters.
