Experimental substantiation and clinical application of new stimulators of regeneration in treatment of hard palate donor wound

Medzhidov M.N.

Abstract

Until now, insufficient attention has been paid for different reasons to the issue of treatment of hard palate donor wound resulting from harvesting an autograft for surgical treatment of local gum recession. Treatment of such wounds usually consists in simple suturing of the wound surface. In this regard, search for remedies which would accelerate wound healing without scar formation and make it possible to dispense with wound suturing, is a topical task. The author evaluates the effectiveness of the use of a combined transplant of preparations based on platelet growth factor-SB and fibrin-flbronectin system in treatment of palatal donor wound under experimental and clinical conditions. Experimental, histomorphological, clinical, and functional stages of the study are described in the article; postoperation and long-term results of treatment are evaluated.

Temporomandibular pain dysfunction syndrome in patients with connective tissue dysplasia

Kupriyanova O.N., Puzin M.N.

Abstract

Clinical and morphofunctional features of temporomandibular pain dysfunction syndrome in patients with connective tissue dysplasia -were studied. The study found that abnormal anatomo-topographic relations between joint elements, chronic productive inflammation, vascular obliteration within the capsular-ligamental complex, which determine pain syndrome, were typical of this category of patients. A genetically determined connective tissue defect is the leading etiologicalfactor of temporomandibular pain dysfunction syndrome in patients suffering from connective tissue dysplasia with a mechanism different from that ofocclusive articulation syndrome and neuromuscular syndrome.

Petrov P.I., Yenikeyev D.A., Mannanova F.F., Shaikhutdinov I.F., Shafikov A.P.

Abstract

Four hundred and four respondents who had visited a dentist before were studied. A technique for study of somatic sensations proposed by A. F. Yermoshin was applied. The study showed that most somatic sensations were negative, appeared after the first visit to a dentist and lasted years. Almost all dental patients feel anxiety, uneasiness, and fear. The method for determining somatic sensations can be used in clinical dentistry for diagnostics and correction of the psychoemotional status of patients.

Korotkikh N.G., Khodorkovsky M.A., Petrov B.V.

Abstract

Intermaxillar interosseus fixation with screws is an alternative to on-tooth orthopedic splint constructions for jaw immobilization after reconstruction of hemimandibular defects. This technique for immobilization excludes injury to per-iodontal tissue leading to inflammatory diseases. This technique is simple and highly hygienic, which makes it possible to recommend its wide use.
