An experimental study of electrochemical interaction between dental implants and titanium construction materials
Abstract
The study revealed detailed electrochemical characteristics of interaction between titanium alloys (including nikelid- titanium) that take place in the oral cavity when titanium or nikelid-titanium implants and titanium alloy-based met-alloceramic prostheses are used. Acceptable values of the electric potentials of contact titanium alloy pairs were defined. The study found such an unfavorable factor as a significant increase in the electrochemical parameters, which occurred when the surface (oxide film) of an implant or prosthesis got damaged; however, this phenomenon was of short duration thanks to a quick recovery (repassivation) of the oxide film of titanium alloys.

An experimental morphological study of jaw regeneration in immunodeficiency, and combined application of polyoxidonium and indost (plates)
Abstract
The dynamics of posttraumatic mandibular regeneration under the conditions of moderate immunodeficiency (ID) were studied on 45 rats divided into five groups; gapkol and INDOST (plates) were introduced into the bone tissue, and polyoxidonium (PO) was administered parenterally for immunocorrection. The combination of the immunocorrective effect of PO and local effects of INDOST (plates) intensified the osteogenic process. The already formed bone substance differentiated with bone structures prevailing over cartilaginous ones. The authors conclude that experimental correction of ID using PO in combination with local application of INDOST (plates) demonstrate the effectiveness of the method for normalization of bony wound healing in the maxillofacial area under ID conditions.

Peculiarities of metabolic processes in dental pulp under the conditions of inflammatory stress
Abstract
The activity of lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate and alanine aminotransferase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione per-oxidase, α-glycosidase, and alkaline phosphatase, participating in various metabolic processes in the pulp of both intact teeth and those affected by carious at different stages, was studied. The study showed that high superoxide dismutase activity in deep caries evidenced increased production of hydrogen peroxide, necessary for antimicrobial protection in caries. The highest lactate dehydrogenase and alkaline phosphatase activity was seen in acute pulpitis, while transam- inase and glycosidase activity increased in chronic hypertrophic pulpitis. In chronic fibrous pulpitis, the activity of metabolic processes approximated those in the intact pulp, which evidenced the stabilization of pulp condition. The activity of the studied dental pulp enzymes reflects pulp condition and changes in accordance with the direction of compensatory processes in this tissue.

A bacteriological study of dental deposit microbiocenosis in white carious spot area before and after the application of the adhesive dentalfilm Diplen F
Abstract
Therapeutic and prophylactic measures including the application ofthe fluorine-containing film Diplen F favored the normalization of oral cavity microbiocenosis and coping with dysbiosis. A significant decrease in the amount of carie-sogenic microbes and a partial elimination of some acid-producing streptococci and ray fungi with a simultaneous preservation of a moderate amount of antagonistic microbes should be considered a factor of significant enforcement of dental caries-resistance. A decrease in the number of virulent strains and the elimination of Candida fungi should be considered the normalization of oral cavity microbiocenosis, favoring the prevention of inflammatory processes - gingivites and stomatites - in children.

Ways of perfection of dental implantation in patients with concomitant somatic diseases
Abstract
Dental implantation presents a dynamically developing field of Russian dentistry. As a surgical technique, dental im-plantation has a lot of contra-indications. Till recently, diabetes mellitus and coronary artery disease have been con-sidered as ones. Clinico-laboratory prognostication of risks of somatic complications and inflammatory complications during the early post-implantation period, as well as ways of their prevention are extremely topical at the present-day stage of dental implantation development.

Protection of prepared teeth containing vital pulp by mineralization with BV material
Abstract
The paper contains the results of a study, the aim of which was to prove the efficacy of BV material application to mineralize dentin and eliminate hyperesthesia after odontopreparation. A possibility to apply the new BV material, which leads to the formation of amorphic calcium phosphate or the mineral brushit crystals, close to hydroxyapatite by its chemical composition, was studied. The clinical study revealed that hyperesthesia, occurring after odontoprep-aration, disappeared or decreased significantly as a result of electrophoresis of calcium and phosphate ions from BV solution or their consequent rubbing into dentin surface regardless of what methods of mineralization were used, which makes it possible to recommend clinical application of BV material as a desensitizer.

Clinico-instrumental evaluation of periodontal condition in musicians playing wind instruments
Abstract
The condition oftheperiodontum was evaluated in 80 musicians - students of Moscow Military Conservatory playing wind or impact instruments; the comparative clinico-instrumental study included radiography, periostometry, and Dop-plerflowery. The examination found periodontal disorders mostly located in front teeth area of the mandible, progressing with the duration of playing a wind instrument. The authors conclude that musicians playing wind instruments are at a higher risk of periodontitis and need professional therapeutic and prophylactic measures.

Peculiarities of dental implantation in patients with system osteoporosis
Abstract
The subjects of the study were 40 patients aged 44 to 70 years with denture defects and a validated diagnosis of system osteoporosis (SOP). Sixty-seven implants coated with p-tricalciumphasphate ceramics were set in 19 patients; 54 LICo implants processed by bead-blasting technique were set in 21 patients. The study established that SOP and local jaw osteopenia are not absolute contra-indications to dental implantation provided certain conditions are met and adequate therapeutic algorithm is followed. Bioceramic coating with set surface characteristics intensifies osteointegration. A tech-nique allowing for creation of such a coating possessing necessary characteristics - porosity and roughness - was developed.

Особенности курации пациентов пожилого и старческого возраста с полным отсутствием зубов…
Abstract
The article contains comparative clinico-laboratory evaluation of two techniques to construct teeth rows in total re-movable dentures: the conventional one with glass and an occluder, and another technique where calotte and an ar-ticulator are applied in combination with volumetric modeling. The subjects, 168patients aged 45 to 75, were examined and treated. In addition to clinical examination, masticatory efficiency according to I. S. Rubinov was determined, taking into account V. A. Kondrashov masticatory index and the results of speech test by N. V. Pokrovsky auditory method using Z. V. Ludilina syllabic table on the day of imposition as well as 33 days and six month later.

The content of salivary 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine derivates in diagnostics of salivary gland inflammatory diseases: the study results
Abstract
Oxidative modification of salivary proteins in patients with inflammatory diseases of major salivary glands was studied. The degree of spontaneous protein oxidation was defined by interaction between oxidized amino acid residues with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The study found that patients with various inflammatory diseases of major salivary glands had increased salivary protein peroxidation level. These findings should be considered an appropriate diagnostic cri-terion.

Postoperative complications in patients with oral cavity and oral pharynx cancer, operated on for a recurrent or residual tumor after radiotherapy
Abstract
The authors present their experience in treating 137 patients operated on for a recurrent or residual tumor of oral cavity and oral pharynx after radiotherapy. The rate and character of postoperative complications are analyzed. Local complications prevailed. The following factors influenced the rate of complications: the size of the tumor, the volume of surgery, time passed between radiotherapy and surgery, and radiotherapeutic doses.
