Salivary duct microflora in an exacerbation of chronic sialadenitis. The substantiation of antibacterial treatment tactics

Ivanov S.Y., Tsaryov V.N., Faskhutdinov D.K., Panin A.M., Chuvilkin V.I., Fakhrislamova L.R.

Abstract

Mixed microflora of obligate and facultative aerobes was shown to prevail in the duct exudate of patients with an exacerbation of chronic sialadenitis. Microaerophilic streptococci and gram-negative enterobacteria bacilli predominated. The microflora was in most cases sensitive to beta-lantanas-resistant penicillins and modern fluoroquinolones (amoxiclav, levofloxacin, and moxifloxacin). These preparations proved to be clinically effective in patients with an exacerbation of chronic sialadenitis.

Mathematical substantiation of the use of hard and semi-labile fixation of full removable prostheses on intraosseal implants

Shashmurina V.R., Chumachenko Y.N., Volozhin A.I.

Abstract

The aim of the study was biomechanical substantiation of the use of implant-based full removable prostheses with hard or semi-labile fixation of meso- and suprastructure in dependence on the degree of the atrophy and density of the alveolar part of the mandible. The degrees of atrophy and bone mineralization were shown to be important factors influencing the plan of treatment of a patient with complete absence of mandibular teeth. The authors give recommendations on the number of implants to be installed and the length of their intraalveolar part in patients with degree A, B, or С atrophy, as well as high, medium, or low mineral density of the mandible.

The role of glycoprotein receptors of thrombocytes in disturbances of the microcirculatory link of hemostasis in patients with chronic generalized periodontitis

Kirichuk V.F., Parfyonova S.V., Bulkina N.V., Kitaeva V.N.

Abstract

The study showed that in patients with an exacerbation of severe chronic generalized periodontitis the aggregation ability of thrombocytes was increased due to a higher content of b-D-galactose, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, N-acetyl-neuraminic (sialic) acid, and mannose in the carbohydrate determinants of the glycoprotein receptors. For the most part, the intensified thrombocyte aggregation was a result of an increased level of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and -acetyl-neuraminic (sialic) acid in the glycoprotein receptors. During the remission, the carbohydrate composition of glyco- protein receptors of thrombocytes did not recover completely.

Application of lucerne preparations in complex treatment of mandibular fractions

Mirsayeva F.Z., Izosimov A.A.

Abstract

Mandibular fractures prevail among facial fractures. Methods of complex treatment of mandibular fractions are being constantly perfected; yet, pyoinflammatory complications remain frequent. In this article, the authors describe their method of the application of lucerne preparations (Eracond solution and Luceron collagen plates). Owing to their antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, immunomodulative, anabolic and wound-healing properties, the prep- arations reduce the number of inflammatory complications and the time of hospital treatment and rehabilitation.
