On pathogenesis of gnathic kerato-cysts
Abstract
Published data and independent observations on clarifying the pathogenesis of gnathic kerato-cysts are presented in the article. It was established that the so-called primary kerato-cysts develop repeatedly due to an aggressive proliferation and an active differentiation of the multi-layer flat epithelium into the jaw osteal tissue. This predetermines an aggressive and, probably, atypical clinical course.

Tissue response to the "Ftorax" plastic with the synthetic hydroxyapatite being applied to the plastic surface and with the plastic being modified by supercritical carbonic medium
Abstract
The "Ftorax" acryl plastic was polymerized on water bath, treated in the C02 supercritical medium (smCOJ, and subsequently the synthetic hydroxyapatite (HAP) was laser-dusted on it, after which the thus obtained plastic was examined for biological compatibility in experiments with rats of the "Vistar" line. "Ftorax" plates (size - 10 x 10 mm, thickness - 1.5 mm) were implanted under the skin; the histological and histochemical examinations were carried out on the 10th- 20th- and 40th days. It was proven that the smC02 treatment most effectively reduces the toxic action produced by the plastic on the tissue, because the mentioned treatment method ensures a maximum possible extraction of toxic compounds from the plastic. The effect is additionally enhanced by the excimer laser HAP application. An active tissue reaction and the maturity of the connective tissue of the capsule forming around the implants are the main distinguished features of the HAP- and smC02 treated plastic. A polymer, after smC02 and HAP, becomes more biologically compatible, and it provoces a less pronounced inflammatory reaction when implanted into the tissue.

The fine-dispersed hydroxyapatite in the composition of tooth paste to fill in fractures and defects of tooth enamel after irradiation
Abstract
Intact teeth, extracted due to medical indications in persons aged 20-25 and 60- 70, were irradiated by а у -unit "AgatP'. The teeth were irradiated in a irradiation regime identical to the one applied in the treatment of patients with malignant neoplasms in the head and neck. After that a tooth brush was used to treat the teeth with a tooth-paste containing the fine-dispersed hydroxy apatite (particle size - 1-2 mem), which was synthesized at the "Polistom" company; the procedure was repeated 4 times a day for 3 minutes each time with subsequent washing of the teeth under the flowing water. Prior to the treatment with paste, organic deposits and pellicula were removed by a 3-5% solution of Sodium Hypochlorite. The thus obtained material was examined by Electronic Scanning Microscopy. It was established, that the enamel of the irradiated teeth (especially of those extracted from elderly persons) had a larger quantity of defects and fractions, and their depth and width were bigger, either, as compared to non-irradiated teeth. The hydroxyapatite particles and their conglomerates fill in the formed enamel defects and fractions, whose width exceeds 2-3 \icm. Hydroxyapatite fills in such defects and it is not washed out by water for as long as 10 days, which is a reason for a clinical testing of the material in question.

Anatomic specific features of the permanent mesial incisor in male and female
Abstract
The morphological characteristics of the medial incisor were studied anatomically, ondotoscopically, ondotometrically and rentgenologically both in male and female. The established factors can characterize such teeth in both male and female. We can make a diagnosis, when we deal only with two of such factors as minimum. Odonotoscopical characteristics were used as approximate facts.

Algorithms of ray examination of patients with maxillofacial trauma (MFT) for the sake of detecting the forensic medical aspects of trauma mechanisms on the basis of information technologies
Abstract
The forensic medical aspects of mechanisms of damages to the maxillofacial parts was studied by using the information technologies and the engineering mechanics laws. Clinical cases of trauma were examined in 59 patients (both male and female), aged 16 to 60, who underwent treatment at the department of maxillofacial surgery of Voronezh regional clinical hospital. The study led to isolating two key types of maxillofacial trauma with regard for the forensic medical aspect, i.e. spontaneous falling and falling with acceleration as well as blow with some object. The study results are recommended for use in the forensic medical practice.

Facial expression as an indicator of an emotional state of patients at visits to dentists
Abstract
The results of psychological examinations of patients during their visits to dentists are described in the article. The FACS method, i.e. facial activity coding system, was used to diagnose the emotional state of patients. The study results prove that the FACS method makes it possible to evaluate objectively the mood and sometimes the modality of the emotions of patients experienced by them at the dentist.

A clinical experience of using the "Ecusite" and "Charisma"
Abstract
The study was aimed at evaluating clinically the dental reconstructions made by using hybrid composite materials "Ecusite" (DMG-Hamburg) and "Charisma" (Heraeus Kulzer). A total of 40 reconstructions were examined according to the criteria of the Ryge direct clinical evaluation, including the edge adaptation, anatomic form, secondary caries, matching of colors, changes in the cavity-edge colors and roughness of surface. The study results showed that the above filling materials meet all clinical parameters according to the Ryge system; the application of these materials offers a more extensive choice for stomatologists in making reconstructions with regard for a individual dental color range of a patient, an absence of caries that could adjoin the dental stopping edge and for preserving an original anatomic form.

The clinical assessment of filing by composite material "Filtek ™ Z-250"
Abstract
The clinical assessment of fillings made from restoration composite material "Filtek ™ Z-250" ("3M") showed a lack or an insignificant quantity of such complications like pigmentation of the dental cavity, manifestations of caries at filling edges and integrity of filling adhesion. Composite material "Fitek ™ Z-250" (3M) is feasible for a comprehensive use as a restoration composite in the dentist practice.

A comparative study of the compositions of salivary and dental calculi in patients with salivary-dental disease with due regard for the results of the conducted method of sialolithotripsy
Abstract
The authors studied the elementary composition of salivary and dental calculi in 16 patients with salivary-dental pathology by using the method of laser mass-spectrometry; the target of the study was to work out the prognostication criteria to evaluate the discharges of the salivary glands. The obtained results are indicative of that the elementary compositions of salivary and dental calculi have quantitative but not qualitative differences, which proves that they are of the same origin, i.e. from saliva. Besides, the authors did not establish any reliable difference in the elementary composition of the dental calculus irrespective of the lithotripsy results. The organic basis (carbon) as well as iron and nickel prevail in the composition of the salivary calculus, which is a hard object for lithotripsy.

An evaluation of a biostimulating effect of an ultrasonic dispersion hydroxyapatite, OSTIM-100, at vital subtotal extirpation of the pulp
Abstract
A reliable obturation of the root canals remains one of the most acute issues in dentistry. A possibility of stimulating the reparative processes was studied after pulpectomy at inside-canal administration of an ultrasonic dispersion hy~ droxyapatite, OSTIM-100; a 30% portion of paste was introduced into the root canal with a subsequent obturation by thermaphyl. No pathological changes were registered in the periapical tissues. Moreover, it was registered, in the area of the pulp-periodontal segment (in 41.7% cases), a shaping-up of an osteosclerotic focus; it was noted, in 66.7% and 94.4% of cases after 6 and 12 months, respectively. Therefore, the "OSTIIM-100" preparation can be regarded as a factor regulating the reparative osteogenesis at its inside-canal administration.
