Adaptation reactions of patients to dental-maxillary bridges in tooth replacement (biochemical and immunological aspects))
Abstract
Published data and the results of author' independent research on certain mechanisms of patients' adaptation to dentures are summarized in the paper. Recovery of the salivation volume, enzyme activity of mixed saliva and of immunoglobulins content was shown to be the most adequate indicator of the patient's adaptation reactions infixed denture placement. A pronouncement degree and duration of the adaptation reactions depend on an initial state of the periodontium. If the periodontium is intact, the reactions last, as a rule, for no more than 3 months. In case of the preceding periodontium, the adaptation is by far longer lasting from 6 to 12 months and more. The patients' adaptation to metalloceramics and cable-stayed structure is shorter and more valuable versus the cases with clasp dental prosthesis. Finally, patients get adapted to stainless steel dentures slower and not to the full extent..

Effects of a mixture including furfural, formaldehyde, phenol and acetone on the condition of the mucous tunics of the mouth cavity and liverИ
Abstract
The mucous tunics of the mouth cavity (cheek, gum) and of the liver in rats were morphologically investigated after a combined chronic seeding by a mixture of furfural, formaldehyde, phenol and acetone of low, medium and high concentrations. Morphological changes of the atrophic and discirculating types (cheek, gum) and of the dystrophic and inflammatory types (liver) were detected with their intensity being on the rise at increasing concentrationsИ

The social and inherited syndromes and immunity status in domestic trauma of the facial skull partА
Abstract
Traumas of the facial skull part were comparatively evaluated for 1985-1990 and for 1995-1999. A 56%-increase of trauma was noted for the recent years. Patients were received at hospital in alcoholic intoxication in 57% of cases and in drug intoxication in 5% of cases. The genetic predisposition for trauma due to changes in the connective tissue system was registered in 71% of patients. Such trauma entails an impaired immunity; a direct dependence ofmisbalanced immune responses on a severity of lesions and concurrent pathologies was established with the latter being directly preconditioned by alcohol abuse. Young persons aged 18-35 were predominant among the patients who were received at hospital in drug intoxication. Social factors, like unemployment, poor life conditions, a growing number of homeless people, alcoholism and drug-addiction contribute essentially to an increasing trauma prevalence and trauma complications.

Esthetic parameters of smile in the Kalmyk people
Abstract
Two hundred schoolchildren (Kalmyks of the third generation, males - 50%, females - 50%) with intact dentitions and with orthognathic occlusion were examined. The key esthetic smile parameters based on the ratios between the lips, gums and teeth were studied by the findings of digital photography.

The clinical-and-functional parameters of the parodentium in patients with a destructed crown portion and with separated tooth roots in the zone of multi-root tooth bifurcation
Abstract
The parodentium condition in patients with a destntcted crown portion of the mandibular molars without splitting in the bifurcation zone and with splitting in the tooth bifurcation zone was investigated before and after rendering them a high-skill dental care. Impaired unity and structure of the dental-maxillary segment was the case in all patients before treatment according to somatoscopy and X-ray. The endotoxic therapy and making of posts for the remaining roots provide for recovering the lost quality of the parodentium of decayed teeth

A new method of immunocorrecting therapy within the evaluation of contents of macro- and microelements of mixed saliva in patients with odontogenic osteophlegmon
Abstract
The contents of phosphorus, calcium, strontium and zinc were quantified in mixed non-stimulated saliva of 16 bioassays and of 8 patients with acute odontogenic osteomyelitis complicated by phlegmon by using the method of atom-absorption spectroscopy. Five of the 8 patients underwent a complex clinically routine treatment (Group 1), the mentioned treatment scheme was added the "Winibis" drug in case of another 3 patients (Group 2). Mixed non-stimulated saliva of virtually healthy subjects (controls) was investigated. Statistically significant differences were detected in studies of calcium and the P/Ca factor. The calcium concentration in the mouth fluid (Group 2) was shown to be decreasing, as the treatment proceeded, essentially faster (p < 0.05) versus Group 1. It denoted a decreasing osteoprosis in the osseous tissues, therefore, 'Winibis" contributed to an earlier termination of the resorption processes in the above tissue providing for an earlier clinical recovery of patients.

Changes of the optical density of osseous elements in the temporomandibular joint in its malfunction and in impaired activity of the masticatory muscles
Abstract
Sixteen patients, aged 20-50, with a malfunctioning temporomandibular joint (TMJ) concurrent with a partial lack of teeth, a dropping lower face part and a distal displacement of the mandible were examined. Twelve subjects, aged 20 to 40, with intact teeth and tooth rows were in the control group. The below examination methods were made use of: electromyography of the masticatory muscles and computer-based tomography of TMJ with a subsequent determination of the relative optic density of the TMJ osseous elements. The results showed reconstructive changes in TMJ at its malfunction as well as an impaired activity of the dentofacial muscles as observed in the studied pathology. The above deviations were displayed through a lower optic density in the cortical and labial bones of the TMJ anatomic elements and through reduced amplitude, temporal and quantitative parameters characterizing the masticatory-muscles func- tional activity. The orthopedic treatment provided for both the recovered masticatory-muscles activity and normalizing structures of the TMJ osseous anatomic elements

Functional parameters of the mouth-cavity tissue as observed in workers of the chemical industry in Fergana
Abstract
Described in the paper are the results of a study of the functional parameters of the mouth-cavity tissue as observed in workers of chemical industry. The hazardous production factors were shown to reduce the pain barrier and discriminative sensitivity; they also affect the functional mobility of gustatory receptors
