CHOICE OF DENTAL ALLOYS FOR TOOTH REPLACEMENT USING TITANIUM IMPLANTS
Abstract
The authors of the article obtained data on electrochemical parameters of the most wide-spread base alloys used in dentistry, as far as titanium implants were concerned. Having analyzed them, they made the conclusion that constructions made of titanium alloys are preferable for their minimal potential difference when titanium implants are used. The use of other alloys may cause complications, especially in patients with allergic background.

Dynamics of bone defect healing after implantation of resorbable polymeric materials
Abstract
The article contains the results of a histologic study, the aim of which was to determine bone tissue response to implantation of bioresorbable materials (96/4 PLDLA, PLLA, PLLA/PGA, 70/30 PLDLA) into experimental bone defects in the shaft of femur. The subjects (40 linea Wistar rats) were followed up within 1, 3, 6, and 10 months. The results show that implantation of these materials does not suppress reparative osteogenesis in bone defects. The observations suggest that these materials have certain tendency towards osteointegration.

Changes in the activity of some lymphocyte dehydrogenases after implanta
Abstract
The aim of the study was to evaluate the dehydrogenase enzyme activity of lymphocytes (succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), mitochondrial and cytoplasmatic a-glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (a-GPDH)), taken from lymph nodes in the vicinity of the titan nickelide implantation zone. The experiment was performed on 150 white Wistar rates. The detailed analysis of dehydrogenase activity in the dynamics of the experiment proves corrective and protective properties of the suggested phytomineral complex under the conditions of experimental titan nickelide implantation. These properties are realized through elevation of SDH and NADH-D activity, increase of the coordinating role of glycerophosphate shunt and optimization of the interaction between its components (mitochondrial and cytoplasmatic a-GPDH).

Evaluation of the quality of tooth filling with compomer by nondestructive acoustic microscopy
Abstract
The subjects of the study were 9 dogs. Experimental "moderate caries" cavities were formed and than filled with Opti-BondSolo KerrUSA with the compomeric filling material Esterfill Ca\F (group I), the adhesive system Esterfill-photo with the same material (group II), and Esterfill Ca\F according to the directions given by the manufacturer -jointstock company DIAS (group III). The animals were taken out of the experiment 1, 3, and 6 months later; the teeth were studied by means of nondestructive acoustic microscopy using a new model of an acoustic microscope. The study revealed substantial heterogeneity of the material, and showed the distributions of glass particles in the polymeric matrix of Esterfill Ca\F. The ultrasound speed in this material was substantially lower than in the enamel and dentine. The defects of its adhesion to the hard tissue of the filled teeth could be caused by difference in mechanical strength, which was evidenced by the ultrasound speeds in the samples. The results of the study allow grounded interpretation of the acoustic images of filling materials and their adhesion properties towards hard tooth tissues.

Methods of orthodontic patient management with immune status taken into account
Abstract
The aim of the study was to reveal periods of immune tension during orthodontic treatment. The subjects (102 children with dental and jaw anomalies and deformations) were divided into three groups: group I (control) - 30 children without dental appliance treatment; group II - 35 children receiving treatment with removable therapeutic orthodontic appliances; group III - 37 children treated with brackets. The study found that the whole period of active appliance treatment was characterized by immune disbalance, which was particularly noticeable one month, five months after the beginning of treatment, and during its final stage (i.e. IS months after the fixation of brackets). The results suggest that these periods should be considered "critical", and require immunocorrective therapy and caries-preventive measures.
