Electromyographic study of the maxillofacial muscles in orthodontic treatment of patients with a decreased interalveolar height
Abstract
Electromyographic parameters of the masticatory muscles were studied in 68 patients aged 26 to 65 (41 women and
27 men) with pathological abrasion of hard dental tissues complicated with a decrease of the interocclusion height
without dentition defects directly after repair of the lost height and 6 months, 1, 2, and 3 years after fixation of permanent dentures. Study of the electromyographic parameters of the masticatory muscles helps specify the terms of orthodontic treatment.
