The purpose of the study – which together with D.A. Entin stood at the origins of domestic dentistry.

Material and methods. The article is prepared on the basis of the information found, which is set out in the Russian special literature on dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, as well as taking into account the memoirs of the patriarch of military dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor Colonel of the medical service V.V. Fialkovsky, who personally knew S.D. Eiger,

Results. The paper notes that S.D. Eiger, working together with D.A. Entin and M.K. Geikin, was one of the first in the world medicine to carry out scientific research on the biochemistry of saliva in connection with dental caries. She independently and in collaboration with D.A. Entin and M.K. Geikin in 1928 made several scientific reports at the III All-Union Odontological Congress, which were recognized by domestic and foreign dentists. S.D.Eiger made a great contribution to the formation of propaedeutic dentistry. She prepared the textbook "A short course of dental propaedeutics" in 1941

Conclusions. S.D. Eiger should be set as an example to novice doctors and researchers, as a standard of professionalism, sense of duty, honesty and decency. She, being a scientist, clinician and teacher, has done a lot for domestic dentistry, and her name should be preserved for posterity.
