Abstract
This article provides a systematic analysis of the development of dental preparation and filling techniques. Using specific historical examples, it traces the evolution of dental instruments—from archaic Neolithic devices to more sophisticated mechanical systems. Filling materials are similarly examined. Particular attention is paid to how dentistry developed through the adaptation of technologies from related crafts. Based on this analysis, it is concluded that technological progress in dentistry is continuous and that historical experience plays a crucial role in shaping modern principles of safe and effective treatment.
