A study of the surface of acryl-plastic-based facing dental materials

Domenyuk D.A., Garazha S.N., Ivancheva Y.N.

Abstract

Using laser profilometry and scanning electron microscopy combined with electron magnetic resonance imaging, the authors studied the microstructure of the surface of acryl-plastic-based facing dental materials Sinfony (3M-ESPE), Solidex (Shofu), Oxomat (Stoma), Artglass (Heraeus Kulzer), Sculpture/Fiberkor (Jeneric Pentron), Vitapan Monopast (Vita), Biodent K+W Plus (De Trey), and Sinma-M (Stoma). The results were compared with the parameters of natural tooth enamel surface. The study found that the microstructure and microrelief of Sinfony (3M-ESPE), a hybrid light polymerization material, is closest to natural tooth enamel parameters, because the material is phase-homogenic, practically non-porous, and has high surface purity. High hydrophobicity, structural homogenicity, and high density reduce the probability of the aggregation of oral fluid microbial and chemical agents on the material surface, which is a predictor of good long-term clinical results.

Laser profilometry and scanning electron microscopy to study the surface structure of dental casting alloys of noble and precious metals

Garazha S.N., Domenyuk D.A., Ivancheva Y.N.

Abstract

Using laser profilometry and scanning electron microscopy combined with electron magnetic resonance imaging, the authors studied the microstructure of the surface of dental casting alloys of noble (Selector 3 (Metalor), Palliag MJ (Degussa), Solaro 3 (Metalor), Superpal (Russia), Plagodent (Russia) and precious (Palliag W (Degussa), Mattident P (Johnson Matthey) metals. The results were compared with the parameters of natural tooth enamel surface. According to the study, the microstructure and microrelief of the surface of Plagodent (Russia), a superhard gold-platinum alloy with a high gold content, is closest to parameters of natural tooth enamel. Significant structural homogenicity, high density, and high surface purity together with no open porosity reduce the probability of the aggregation of oral fluid microbial and chemical agents on the material surface, which is a predictor of high efficacy of orthopedic treatment.

Computer simulation, prognosis, and analysis of the efficacy of dental kappas

Yanushevich O.O., Chumachenko Y.N., Arutyunov S.D., Lebedenko I.Y., Losev F.F., Malginov N.N., Ignatyeva D.N.

Abstract

Analysis of a biomechanical model maximally approximating natural state of the dentomaxillary apparatus made it possible to find a possibility of local protection of restored dental crowns and dental prostheses by forming special cavities in the bridge of a sport splint. Mathematic modeling was applied to perfect the construction of a sport splint made of Boxil Extra material, which makes it possible to achieve high prophylactic results in sportsmen and people doing muscle-strengthening exercises suffering from periodontal diseases and having restored dental crowns.

The use of information technologies to choose rational dental prosthesis constructions

Arutyunov S.D., Chumachenko Y.N., Yanushevich O.O., Lebedenko I.Y., Ignatyeva D.N., Losev F.F., Ibragimov T.I., Malginov N.N.

Abstract

Studies and analysis of their results have established limitations to the use of a polymerized plastic material developed by the authors used for temporary dental prosthetics. Special nomograms were developed to connect anthropological and functional features of the maxillofacial system with acceptable geometric characteristics of temporary prostheses from the developed plastic material.

Primenenie informatsionnykh tekhnologiy pri planirovanii lecheniya v praktike ortopedicheskoy stomatologii

Lebedenko I.Y., Chumachenko Y.N., Yanushevich O.O., Arutyunov S.D., Ibragimov T.I., Losev F.F., Ignatyeva D.N., Malginov N.N.

Abstract

The article discusses algorithms and methods to choose rational forms of composite locally-homogenic constructions used for dental prosthetics. By an example of reconstruction of dentures with milled ceramic inserts, the authors demonstrate a possibility to predict further behavior of the reconstructed molar using mathematic modeling methods, and thus chose a grounded variant of its treatment

Computed simulation of the constructions of metal-ceramic dental prostheses

Malginov N.N., Chumachenko Y.N., Yanushevich O.O., Ignatyeva D.N., Arutyunov S.D., Lebedenko I.Y., Ibragimov T.I., Losev F.F., Levin G.G.

Abstract

The use of optimization algorithms in practical dentistry makes it possible to design frames of metal-ceramic prostheses with specified durability and a minimum weight of the frame which serves as the base of the prostheses. The results obtained by this method take into account peculiarities of each individual case. Saving of precious metals cheapens prostheses significantly and thus widens the contingent of patients, including least socially protected people (pensioners, children, diabetics etc.)

Prooxidants, mexidol, and other antioxidants in herpetic stomatitis, gingivostomatitis, and chronic generalized periodontitis

Petrovich Y.A., Teryokhina N.A., Reuk S.E., Sukhova T.V.

Abstract

The article contains data on changes in the levels of SOD, HPO, catalase, Cu-containing ceruloplasmin, and Fe-containing transferrin in healthy children as well as within the course of treatment of herpetic stomatitis, gingivostomatitis in children and chronic generalized periodontitis in adults. The study demonstrated high significance of free radical oxidation and anti-oxidation protection in these processes. Changes in all the three compared pathologies have the same direction, but different intensity.

Perspektivy lecheniya leykoplakii slizistoy obolochki polosti rta

Chekalina T.L., Pozharitskaya M.M., Bocharova O.A.

Abstract

Evaluation criteria for the quality of dental care in children with congenital cleft lip and palate

Shakirova R.R.

Abstract

The author evaluates the quality of dental care in children with congenital cleft lip and palate at a visit to a dentist. Medical factors make the greatest contribution to the forming of secondary occlusion deformations. Main criteria making it possible to evaluate the quality of dental care at the stage of rehabilitation of children with the given pathology are defined.

Risk factors and clinical features of mouth burning syndrome

Puzin M.N., Skuridin P.I.

Abstract

The results obtained by the authors demonstrate that patients with mouth burning syndrome (MBS) are under increased psychological stress. The symptoms of MBS as a psychosomatic disorder are closely connected with depression and anxiety. However, according to the researchers, the question whether the emotional disturbances are the cause of MBS or its consequence is still open. MBS patients proved to be more exhaustible and sensitive, and had a tendency to apprehension concerning their health.

Neuropsychiб peculiarities in mouth burning syndrome

Skuridin P.I.

Abstract

Nerve injury or their dysfunction after oral or facial trauma or medical interventions may be the source of pain in mouth burning syndrome. Burning pain is a typical feature of painful conditions caused by nerve injury. Somatosensory anomalies are typical in such patients. Chronic pain may be connected with changes in the sympathetic nervous system as well as with blood flow disturbances. While peripheral lesions may be provoking factors, critical pathogenetic factors are subsequent neuroplastic changes in central nociceptive structures. Changes in central neurons (in addition to peripheral mechanisms) may also be responsible for burning painful sensation.
